Miles has received the distinguished award from Coin World Magazine as One Of The 10 Top Most Influential People In Numismatics From 1960-2022.

Miles is currently an entrepreneur designing coins for 7K and writing books. He served as the Vice President of Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC).

He was the first coin grader at PCGS (Professional Coin Grading Service).

He is the co-founder of Collectors Universe (PCGS). He served as Vice President of PSA, Professional Sports Authenticator.

He is the author of Morgan Dollar: America's Love Affair with a Legendary Coin (2014) and American Silver Eagles: A Guide to the U.S. Bullion Coin Program, which he co-authored with former Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint, John Mercanti.

He has graded over 10 million coins in his career, most likely more than anybody else.
